Columbus firefighters responded to a structure fire call at 8 a.m. Thursday morning at 532 West Elm. The uninhabited house was smoking heavily when fire personnel arrived. The fire was burning on the enclosed back porch with smoke reaching the attic. Apparently the fire did not reach the interior of the house. The State Fire Marshal’s Office has opened an investigation of the fire.
