Three people have been hurt in an accident involving a semi and another vehicle near Hutchinson.
It happened around 2:15 Friday afternoon at the intersection of Obee Road and G Avenue, east of Hutchinson.
According to a Reno County sheriff’s dispatcher, a semi truck and another vehicle collided in the intersection.
“An above ground gas line riser was breached and a power pole knocked over, causing additional hazards,” said Reno County Sheriff Randy Henderson.
One person suffered serious injuries in the crash and was flown to a Wichita hospital. Two others suffered non life-threatening injuries.
The intersection has been closed. Reno County Emergency Management officials say homes have not been evacuated, but residents are being asked to stay away from the area as a precaution. A have-mile radius surrounding the scene has been closed off.
