According to the official minutes of the October 1 meeting of the Herndon City Council, the Simon fire truck was on the agenda.
Weis Company in Salina was no longer interested in purchasing the fire truck. When a Weis representative was asked how much a pump test would cost, the response was $350 for the test and $900 to come and do it.
Councilmember Pat Monahan said if the pump doesn’t work well, they wouldn’t be able to sell it.
The council decided to do the pump test.
