Hays Daily News – October 21, 2013
Firefighters from the Hays Fire Department this week will practice skills needed to mount an attack on a large fire. The training — today and Tuesday and Wednesday mornings — will help ensure the fire department can effectively operate to stop the spread of a fire from one building to another during a significant emergency.
The training will be at Kiwanis Park, 17th Street and Harvest Road. For safety reasons, the street will be closed, although the public is invited to watch this training between 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Due to the continued water watch being enforced by the city of Hays, water used during the training will be reduced by 25 percent.
