Leavenworth Times – November 8, 2013
No injuries were reported Friday morning following an apartment fire near downtown Leavenworth, Fire Department officials said.
The fire was reported at 8:10 a.m. Friday in a rear apartment at 608 1/2 S. Fifth St.
“The occupant was not home at the time,” Fire Chief Gary Birch said.
The fire was contained to the apartment, but the there was smoke throughout the building, according to Assistant Fire Chief Mike Lingenfelser.
The cause of the fire is undetermined.
