Wilson City Council approval was given to a request by the Wilson Fire Department to acquire 10 new all-season tires free of charge from the Kansas Forestry Service. Wilson Fire Chief Larry Langerman said the tires, which he estimated cost $500 each, will fit the department’s 5-ton tanker truck.
Langerman said the fire department will be responsible for picking up the tires, installing tubes in them, and mounting them. He estimated that cost to be $1.000.
