The Bentley Fire Department held its annual landing zone safety class to each its firefighters how to safely and correctly set up a landing zone.
After the completion of the classroom portion, LifeTeam flies its helicopter out and the firefighters get to practice setting up the landing zone and talking to the crew as they fly in, telling them of any hazards to avoid and other vital information.
“We would call a helicopter to transport a critical medical or trauma patient that could not make it to the hospital by a ground ambulance,” said Fire Chief Donnie Bean.
