Rush County Fire District #5 is hosting a fundraiser on September 21 in Bison for volunteer fireman Kirby Shaw. A barbecue dinner will be held at 5 p.m. in the Bison City Park. Music will be provided by Bill Hylton and many prizes will be given away.
Shaw was seriously injured in an all terrain vehicle accident on July 7 and is facing a long, difficult road to complete recovery. The proceeds will go to help Shaw and his family pay for household and medical expenses. Shaw was recently transferred from a hospital in Wichita to Clara Barton Hospital in Hoisington for physical therapy.
