Electricity is back on in Overland Park near 151st and Switzer after a fireball erupted from a broken gas line Friday evening.
An Atmos Energy crew struck a 4-inch line around 8:30 p.m.
The flames shot high enough to damage street lights and knock out power for about 2,300 customers.
Johnson County Med-Act reported no injuries in the incident.
