High-speed chase starts in Shawnee County, ends near Williamstown

A police chase that began in Shawnee County has ended near Williamstown in Jefferson County.

A Kansas Highway Patrol dispatcher said the chase began at 8:33 a.m. at K-4 highway and N.E. Seward Avenue and reached speeds of at least 90 mph.

The pursuit ended around 9 a.m. after the chase led troopers eastbound on US-24 highway. Perry schools were placed on lockdown during the pursuit.
