Winfield Firefighters responded to the report of an early morning house fire in the 1000 block of East 10th Ave., just off Davis.
According to a family member, the owners and occupants of the home had left for work about 5 a.m. A passing jogger noticed the fire and alerted the fire department at about 6:15.
The fire appeared to have started in the back bedroom and was apparently contained to that area.
The fire was brought under control, but firefighters remained on the scene working the investigation as of 8:35 a.m.
