Scanner traffic Thursday afternoon indicated an injury accident at Ninth Avenue and Rural Street.
The accident involved a Chevy pick-up truck with major front-end damage, having crashed into a tree.
One adult male had his leg impaled by the truck’s emergency brake. He was breathing and alert, according to Emporia dispatch.
EMS responders on the scene performed an extrication.
