JACKSON COUNTY, Ga. — A bus-type motor home with NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon’s car on the side caught fire, shutting down a Georgia interstate Wednesday afternoon.
The West Jackson Fire Department responded to the scene, which was along the southbound lanes of Interstate 85 in Jackson County, shut down both southbound lanes and extinguished the fire.
Crews reported there was no extension of fire to the trailer the vehicle was towing.
No injuries were reported. Jeff Gordon was not present.
The vehicle that caught fire appeared to be part of his merchandising crew.
