The Kanopolis Fire Department has received state approval for a $4,000 volunteer fire assistance grant, according to Ross Hauck, Kansas Forest Service fire management coordinator.
Kanopolis Fire Chief Matt Munoz said the funds will be used to purchase personal protection equipment for firefighters.
