Lawrence will be playing host to more than 200 members of the International Association of Firefighters for a four-day conference.
The conference, which begins Thursday and will have events all over downtown, is the first of its kind to be held in Kansas. It focuses on preparing Midwest firefighters for the challenges facing their communities.
