The Olathe Fire Department and Olathe Police Department had to investigate an abandoned package left by the downtown post office in Olathe.
The fire department’s bomb squad reported to 110 N. Chestnut at 2 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.
After nearly 90 minutes on the scene, the package was determined as “safe.”
“The facility had been evacuated before emergency responders arrived,” said Mike Hall of the Olathe Fire Department. “The Bomb Squad rendered the package safe around 3:30 pm. The incident is being investigated by the US Postal Inspection Service.”
No one was injured.
