Emergency crews were called out to the Flying J Travel Plaza, 4249 W. U.S. Highway 50, Saturday evening for a report of smoke. Smoke came from a breaker box, which tripped, said Battalion Chief Rex Fisher, of the Emporia Fire Department. A maintenance person at Flying J then turned off all the breakers.
The convenience store had partial power Saturday evening and smoke was cleared from the building. The Flying J declined to confirm this morning if whether all the power has been restored to the plaza.
