Hays Post – September 3, 2013
Lightning from an early morning thunderstorm that rolled across Ellis County is being blamed for starting the Sunday fire. Ellis County Rural Fire Director Dick Klaus told Hays Post, “It was originally believed to be a grass fire. We found the barn, four miles south of Walker, on fire. The structure was a total loss.” There were no injuries. In addition to Rural Fire Company 4, the Gorham fire department helped fight the fire.
