At 12:37 p.m. Sunday afternoon, emergency personnel, firefighters and sheriff’s deputies responded a quarter mile south of Eisenhower on 18th for a state-reportable injury accident.
One vehicle, occupied by Shyloe Schafer of Moundridge and a 17-year-old passenger, was travelling northbound on 18th.
According to Schaefer and her passenger, the other vehicle, driven by Brandon Johnson of Moundridge, was headed southbound on 18th toward them when it suddenly veered into their lane.
Schaefer claims to have swerved her car into the left lane hoping to avoid an accident when Johnson corrected his vehicle’s drifting, resulting in a head-on collision.
Upon arrival, emergency personnel found both vehicles on fire. Shafer, her passenger, and Brandon were all transported to McPherson Hospital. The patients conditions were not available as of press time.
