Two Topekans were injured Sunday after losing control of their vehicle during a pursuit by law enforcement in Jefferson County.
A Jefferson County sheriff’s deputy just before 9 a.m. was pursuing a 1998 Ford F-150 pickup truck west on 5th Street near Williamstown, which is east of Perry, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol. The pickup failed to negotiate a turn at 5th and Pawnee, and the driver lost control, driving into a ditch and striking a tree.
