A truck driver was killed in a one-vehicle crash Saturday morning on Interstate 35 along the Kansas Turnpike near El Dorado.
The accident occurred at 3:40 a.m. on the northbound lanes of the turnpike, authorities said.
A 2005 Freightliner semi-trailer that was northbound on I-35 struck the center median barrier wall.
The truck then entered the east ditch, struck a tree line and caught fire.
The driver of the truck, identified as That Chanthy, 32, of Wichita, died as a result of injuries suffered in the accident.
It wasn’t known if Chanthy, who was alone in the truck, was wearing a seat belt.
