It took the Great Bend Police Department, the Great Bend Fire Department and a towing service an hour and a half Thursday morning to fish a red, four-door Dodge Ram 1500 pickup out of Veterans Memorial Lake. The GBPD said the truck had been stolen some time late Saturday night or early Sunday morning in Great Bend. A tip called into the department indicated the truck was in the lake near the boat ramp at the southwest corner. Officers spotted an oil slick and, probing the water from the footbridge with a pole, found the missing vehicle.
