Firefighters from Ottawa Fire Department extinguish a non-injury grass fire Wednesday afternoon at the south end of Heritage Park near the intersection of East Powhattan and North Birch streets, Ottawa. Capt. Tim Matthias, with the Ottawa Fire Department, said the fire burnt less than one-half acre of grass before firefighters extinguished the blaze, which was called in about 2:10 p.m. Wednesday. After an investigation, Matthias said, the fire department could not determine a cause of the fire, adding that it was not a result of “natural causes.” The fire caused no monetary damages, he said.
