It’s Primary Day in Kansas!

Hey there, fellow Jefferson County Resident! Did you know that today is a super important day in the Sunflower State? That’s right, it’s the Kansas primary election day!

🌻

Now, I know what you’re thinking: “Doug, why should I care about some silly election in the middle of America?” Well, let me tell you, my friend, this is your chance to make a difference!

You see, voting is like choosing your favorite flavor of ice cream, but instead of deciding between chocolate and vanilla, you’re helping to shape the future of your state. And who doesn’t love a good future, am I right?

So, grab your photo ID, put on your favorite voting outfit (I recommend something with pockets for all those “I Voted” stickers), and head to your local polling place. You can find it here.

While I’m on the topic, I’m going to throw a plug in to re-elect Sheriff Jeff Herrig. From what I’ve gathered, Sheriff Herrig seems to be a candidate who’s passionate about making a difference in Jefferson County, Kansas. He’s got some pretty impressive credentials, including serving in the Army Reserve and working as a police officer for nearly 40 years. To me, it comes down to experience actually running a Sheriff’s Department and a County Jail. I only see one person on the ballot who has those kind of credentials.

But, as with any election, it’s essential to do your own research and make an informed decision. Check out their campaign websites, attend local debates or town halls, and don’t be afraid to ask the candidates tough questions.

And remember, every vote counts, just like every kernel of popcorn counts when you’re binge-watching your favorite sci-fi series.

So go forth, my fellow Kansans, and let your voices be heard! And if you need a little extra motivation, just think about how jealous your friends in other states will be when they see your “I Voted” selfie on social media.

Now get out there and vote like your future depends on it, because, well, it kind of does.
