The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 143
continues.
SUMMARY...Threat for severe hail and isolated damaging wind gusts
will continue across WW 143 for the next several hours.
DISCUSSION...A strengthening low-level jet will continue to support
the persistence of thunderstorms across portions of south-central NE
where mesoanalysis estimates MUCAPE over 2000 J/kg still exists.
These estimates are corroborated by the 00Z DDC and LBF soundings,
which each reported MUCAPE over 2500 J/kg. Given the elevated nature
of these storms and generally northward storm motion, hail remains
as the primary severe threat. However, some damaging wind gusts are
possible along the southern fridge of the ongoing cluster where
interaction with the warm front is most plausible.
