Wellington Daily News – October 9, 2013
Arson is suspected in a fire that destroyed a small house early this morning (Wednesday, Oct. 9) at 1207 South A Street in Wellington.
The fire was reported just after 5 a.m., and firefighters arrived to find a one story home with fire shooting through the roof of the house. Firefighters fought the fire from the outside until they could extinguish most of the fire and then entered the house to put out the rest of the blaze.
The house was unoccupied and considered a total loss. This fire was preceded by two other intentionally set fires that occurred at 12:19 AM, Fire Chief Tim Hay said.
Those fires were a small metal shed and four large hay bales in two separate areas south of the house fire. The shed was 200 yards away, and the hay was about a fourth of a mile away.
