Fire investigators said an extension cord possibly started a fire that damaged an Olathe home on Thursday morning.
Authorities said smoke alarms alerted the sleeping family to a fire in the basement of their home in the 26600 block of West 103rd Street about 4:45 a.m.
Lenexa firefighters helped Olathe crews battle the blaze.
No one was hurt.
