A fire destroyed a 1992 truck driven by Hope Manchester at 9:13 a.m., Wednesday, November 6, on K 177, two miles south of the Four Mile Road, according to a sheriff’s department report.
She told the officer she was southbound, heard a bang or pop in the area of the hood, pulled over and discovered there was a fire under the hood. By the time the officer arrived, the fire had spread from the front of the vehicle to the front seats, and all of the vehicle was on fire before it was extinguished by the Council Grove Fire Department.
