Fire crews were called around 1:30 a.m. to a structure fire South of Burden, off U.S. 160 Highway, about seven miles east of Winfield. Newscow reports that at the time of the call, at least one person was unaccounted for and thought to be inside.
A short time later, the victim was located taken to a William Newton Hospital in Winfield and then flown to a Wichita hospital, where he later died. His name has not been released.
Firefighters had the blaze extinguished within an hour of arriving.
