Butler County Deputies, EMS personnel, Rescue 15, El Dorado Fire and Towanda Fire all responded Thursday morning around 9:45 to an injury accident involving a semi tractor-trailer truck and a small 1989 Mitsubishi truck at NW 10th St. and Highway 196.
Deputies at the scene learned that the semi,operated by Henryk J. Przylucki, 54, of Elk River, Minn., was traveling northbound on Highway 196 when the small pickup operated by Justin S. Weiss, 36, of Potwin, traveling southbound crossed the center line and came fully into the northbound lane of traffic.
The two vehicles struck head-on. The semi driver was transported to Wesley Medical Center complaining of shoulder and knee pain. The driver of the small pickup was pronounced dead at the scene by Butler County EMS.
Based on the investigation at the scene, the deceased driver was not wearing his seat belt. The driver of the semi was wearing his seat belt at the time of the accident.
