The Chautauqua County RFD #2 at Niotaze has received state approval for a Volunteer Fire Assistance Grant this year according to Kansas Forest Service Fire Management Coordinator Ross Hauck.
RFD #2 will receive $1,376.00. The Board of Directors will purchase wildfire gear and hand-held radios for the fire department’s volunteer firefighters.
