An overnight fire caused substantial damage to a vacant home in the city’s Highland Park area, authorities said.
Crews were called at 12:15 a.m. to 1415 S.E. Morrison on a report of a structure fire at that address.
First-arriving firefighters found the house fully involved in flames.
The fire was extinguished and the home later was boarded up.
No injuries were reported.
According to the Shawnee County appraiser’s website, the property is owned by Randy Lee Mason and its 2013 appraised value was $29,180.
