Retiring firemen honored

Established in 1923, the Riley City Fire Department is now in its 90th year of service. On Tuesday, October 8, a reception was held for four retiring volunteer firefighters, whose combined service amounts to 109 years. Don Campbell, Charlie Peterson, Carl Sinn and Jim Goff were honored with a Proclamation by Mayor David Shover, who also presented each with a plaque. Peterson joined the department in 1978, Sinn in 1985, Goff in 1986 and Campbell in 1994.
