Two New Downloadable Training Programs and One New SOP Available Free at the ResponderSafety .com

To meet the request of our readers and students ResponderSafety.com has prepared 3 new downloadable training products in the Resource Section of the ResponderSafety Learning Network website. Anyone who registers (for free) at the R/S Learning Network may accesses and download this material.

Backing S.O.P: The purpose of this guideline is to outline proper safety practices to be used when backing Fire Department vehicles and maneuvering in close-quarters situations. Like all of our S.O.P.s it is formatted as a MS Word Document allowing easy customization for your agency. Thanks to Chief Instructor Ron Moore for providing this draft. The suggestion came from David Logan of Inter-Canyon Fire in Conifer CO. Keep the suggestions coming!

Watch Out Behind You: A popular operations level offering was formally available only via the mail in CD format. The course now includes updated material. Now instantly downloadable, this training program may be taught in modules. Suggested presenters should be at least a level one instructor. Suggested teaching time is 4 hours total. Instructors wish to also download the Managing Emergency Incidents on the Roadway Guide to assist them in preparing to teach the class.

The First Fifteen Minutes: This Power Point program provides training for responders on the first arriving vehicle at a highway incident. The first 15 minutes of an incident often sets the tone for the entire response. Learn how practices such as “windshield size up” can make the scene safer and present these lessons in an easy to deliver format.

Readers are reminded that they must first be registered as students at the FREE ResponderSafety Learning Network to access and download these and most of the other Resource Materials on ResponderSafety.com and the ResponderSafety Learning Network.
