Fire Weather Planning Forecast National Weather Service Topeka KS 357 AM CST Thu Mar 4 2021
.DISCUSSION...
Very high fire danger today
Afternoon RH values are once again forecast to fall to around 20 percent across much of the region with south to southeast winds increasing over the course of the day, especially towards central Kansas where gusts could exceed 20 mph. The RH forecast is of lower confidence today given the added uncertainty of how much increasing moisture advection from the south can offset the deeper dry air that could mix to the surface. Thus, there is a chance that RH values could be lower than forecast. The threat for wetting rainfall tonight is mainly confined to areas southwest of a line from Concordia to Garnett, and even then the rain could shift further south.
