The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 542
continues.
SUMMARY...Damaging wind gusts and isolated severe hail will remain
possible across WW542 and vicinity this afternoon.
DISCUSSION...Over the last 2 hours, scattered thunderstorms have
developed and strengthened across portions of southern ID and
northern UT. Additional convection across northern UT is expected to
continue developing and move north across southeastern ID and far
western WY through the remainder of the afternoon. With 500-1000
J/kg of MUCAPE and 40-50 kt of deep-layer shear, these storms
(including a few supercells) are likely to remain capable of severe
wind gusts and isolated hail. Severe coverage is forecast to remain
the greatest over southeastern ID where locally higher buoyancy
exists. Some threat may also extend into Lincoln and Teton Counties
in western WY later this afternoon. Isolated damaging gusts and or
hail will remain possible before storms encounter a less buoyant
airmass farther north and east, deeper into WY.
