The severe weather threat for Tornado Watch 581 continues.
SUMMARY...The tornado potential will continue this morning across
southeast OK and northeast/east TX, meriting the issuance of a
downstream Tornado Watch from southeast OK/far southwest AR across
northeast TX into central TX.
DISCUSSION...A line of thunderstorms extending from east-central OK
southwestward through western portions of the DFW Metroplex
continues to push eastward at around 30 kt. Several low-level
circulations have been noted within this line over the past hour as
well as a few within supercells that developed quickly ahead of the
line. Current storm motion take this line to edge of Tornado Watch
581 within the next 30 mins in OK and within the next hour to hour
and a half in TX. Moisture advection continues across the region and
the expectation is for the ongoing tornado threat to continue within
the line as it moves eastward.
Additionally, shower activity is increasing within the warm sector
ahead of the line, and potential exists for these showers to pose a
severe threat if they persist and mature. Strong mid-level flow will
remain over the warm sector, fostering large hodographs supportive
of tornado development.
All of these factors suggest the tornado potential will continue
this morning across southeast OK and northeast TX, meriting the
issuance of a downstream Tornado Watch from southeast OK/far
southwest AR across northeast TX into central TX.
