Areas affected...far southern Georgia

Concerning...Tornado Watch 52...

Valid 181855Z - 182130Z

The severe weather threat for Tornado Watch 52 continues.

SUMMARY...A few strong to severe wind gusts are expected as activity
continues east across southern Georgia. Isolated severe remains
possible into the Florida Panhandle.

DISCUSSION...Numerous storms extend along multiple gust fronts from
the FL Panhandle into southern AL and GA, become mostly parallel to
winds aloft. An exception has been a more north/south oriented line
moving across southwest GA, and this complex has recently produced a
measured 52 KT gust at KBGE. Northern portions of this particular
bow are elevated, with smaller gusts magnitudes measured as a result
of being north of a stabilizing outflow boundary.

While low-level moisture slowly increases, warming temperatures will
lead to favorable low-level lapse rates which may further enhanced
gust potential. A narrow corridor across southern GA, ahead of the
converging outflows, appears to contain the greatest risk for severe
gusts over the next few hours.

Farther west across the FL Panhandle, most of the activity is
becoming elevated as cells move across the east-west oriented
boundary. While this boundary continues to move south as well, a
brief tornado or wind gust may occur as storms intersect it as 0-1
km SRH remains over 200 m2/s2.
