Areas affected...portions of central and eastern Ohio into far
western Pennsylvania and northern West Virginia

Concerning...Tornado Watch 67...

Valid 232258Z - 240100Z

The severe weather threat for Tornado Watch 67 continues.

SUMMARY...Damaging gusts and large hail appear to be the main
threats, but a tornado or two remains possible.

DISCUSSION...Several semi-discrete to discrete transient supercells
continue to progress eastward across northern WV as well as central
and eastern OH, toward western PA. 500+ J/kg MLCAPE reside near the
storms per 22Z mesoanalysis. A 150+ kt southwesterly mid-level jet
is beginning to overspread eastern OH atop 40 kt southerly 850 mb
flow, contributing to very large, curved hodographs (per latest PBZ
VAD profile), with over 400 m2/s2 effective SRH (22Z mesoanalysis).
However, dewpoints decrease sharply from 60-61 F in eastern OH to
upper 40s F across the border into PA, where storms have been
rapidly weakening. Nonetheless, the very strong shear should promote
continued storm organization in the warm sector, with a couple
instances of damaging gusts, large hail, and perhaps a tornado
remaining possible.
