Areas affected...portions of extreme eastern Arkansas into northern
Mississippi

Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 142...

Valid 160112Z - 160215Z

The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 142
continues.

SUMMARY...The severe threat continues across central portions of
Severe Thunderstorm Watch 0142. Damaging gusts will remain a concern
for at least the next few hours.

DISCUSSION...The trailing portion of an MCS continues to increase in
intensity just south of a bow echo in far eastern AR. MRMS depicts a
wide area of 50+ dBZ reflectivity along the MCS leading line, with
30 dBZ echoes reaching up to 60 kft. Hydrometeor loading is likely
taking place along this portion of the line, with an overall
rightward deviance in forward motion noted. It is possible that an
additional bow echo may develop over the next 30-60 minutes, which
would support a focused corridor of severe winds across northern MS.
Even if the bow echo does not materialize, at least a few damaging
gusts will be possible over the next couple of hours, before
nocturnal cooling begins to temper the severe threat.
