Areas affected...western Tennessee...southeast
Arkansas...northwestern Mississippi...northern and western
Louisiana...far eastern Texas

Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 140...141...142...

Valid 160231Z - 160330Z

The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 140, 141,
142 continues.

SUMMARY...The severe threat continues across the remainder of Severe
Thunderstorm Watches 140-142. Large hail and damaging gusts are
still the main threats. The severe threat should gradually wane into
the evening with nocturnal stabilization.

DISCUSSION...Regional and MRMS mosaic radar imagery depicts several
transient supercells, multicells, and linear segments in progress
across the lower MS Valley to the TX coast. These storms persist
amid residual boundary-layer-based buoyancy, with MRMS MESH data
suggesting that severe hail is falling from a sizeable portion of
the ongoing storms. Given the many cellular (cold pool) mergers that
have taken place, occasional damaging gusts are also possible for at
least a couple more hours. However, boundary-layer stabilization
should support a gradual decline in the severe potential deeper into
the night.
