The severe weather threat for Tornado Watch 154 continues.

SUMMARY...The severe weather threat continues across tornado watch
154.

DISCUSSION...A broken line of supercells continues to move east
across northern Illinois and far southern Wisconsin. These
supercells have been prolofic hail producers thus far with nor
reports of tornadoes or severe wind gusts. Storms are likely at
their peak intensity now, coincident with maximum heating. Expect
storms to weaken by 8-9pm as the boundary layer begins to cool and
inhibition increases. 

Regional VWPs show a modest increase in low-level SRH over the past
2 hours. This may support some continued tornado threat, but expect
large hail to continue to be the primary threat, perhaps with some
increasing wind threat as storms start to congeal near the Chicago
metro area. 

In addition, some storms have formed east of the current watch
across southern Lake Michigan, northwest Indiana and east-central
Illinois. There seems to be a boundary, not apparent in surface
observations, which is initiating these storms all the way back to
southeast Missouri. However, these storms are forming on the eastern
periphery of the instability and are quickly moving toward a region
with dewpoints in the 40s. Therefore, expect these storms to remain
sub-severe this evening.
