Day 3 Convective Outlook NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 0220 AM CDT Sat Sep 16 2023 Valid 181200Z - 191200Z ...NO SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AREAS FORECAST... ...SUMMARY... Organized severe thunderstorms are not currently forecast across the contiguous United States on Monday. ...Synopsis... A mid-level trough over the East will shift east into New England as a disturbance moves through its base from the Carolinas to near Cape Cod during the period. Low-amplitude mid-level flow will mostly characterize the prevailing pattern over the Lower 48 states. A mid-level shortwave trough initially near Vancouver Island will weaken as it moves east into the eastern half of MT. In the low levels, a surface low will develop north-northeast from the coastal waters east of NC/VA and along the New England coast. A trailing cold front arcing south from the low will push through portions of the FL Peninsula. Weak lee troughing east of the Rockies will favor the initial stage of moisture return northward into the central High Plains. Isolated to scattered thunderstorms will be possible across the central-southern Rockies eastward into parts of the central Great Plains. ..Smith.. 09/16/2023
