The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of 
  Northeast Kansas
  Northwest Missouri

* Effective this Tuesday night from 615 PM until Midnight CDT.

* Primary threats include...
  Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2.5
    inches in diameter likely
  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible
  A tornado or two possible

SUMMARY...Severe storms are expected to develop this evening across
northwest Missouri and northeast Kansas as a cold front merges with
the dryline.  Isolated very large hail up to tennis ball size (2.5
inches in diameter) and thunderstorm wind gusts to 70 mph will be
possible with these storms.  An isolated tornado or two could occur
with supercells or embedded circulations in the line of storms
expected tonight.

The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 50
statute miles east and west of a line from 40 miles east southeast
of Emporia KS to 50 miles northeast of Falls City NE. For a complete

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening
weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
tornadoes.
