The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of 
  South central and southeast Kansas
  North central and northeast Oklahoma

* Effective this Tuesday night and Wednesday morning from 845 PM
  until 300 AM CDT.

* Primary threats include...
  Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2
    inches in diameter possible
  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible
  A tornado or two possible

SUMMARY...Severe storms are expected to continue developing in a
line across Kansas into northern Oklahoma along a merged cold
front/dryline.  The storm environment will favor embedded supercell
structures capable of producing large hail and damaging winds within
the line.  An isolated tornado or two could occur with the strongest
storms in the line.

The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 60
statute miles east and west of a line from 30 miles north northwest
of Chanute KS to 60 miles south of Ponca City OK. For a complete

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening
weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
tornadoes.
