URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED Severe Thunderstorm Watch Number 122 NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 225 AM CDT Wed Apr 5 2023 The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a * Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of Northwestern Arkansas Western Illinois Southeastern Kansas Southwestern through east-central Missouri Northeastern Oklahoma * Effective this Wednesday morning from 225 AM until 1000 AM CDT. * Primary threats include... Isolated very large hail events to 2 inches in diameter possible Isolated damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible A tornado or two possible SUMMARY...A band of thunderstorms should continue along and just behind the surface cold front, offering large hail and isolated damaging gusts. Despite a seemingly favorable warm-sector environment, a tornado risk is lower and very conditional on any thunderstorms remaining along/ahead of the front and not getting undercut by it. This watch effectively will replace parts (not all) of severe thunderstorm watches 118 and 120. The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 75 statute miles east and west of a line from Muskogee OK to 95 miles northeast of Columbia MO.
