The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a
* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of
Extreme eastern Iowa
Central and northern Illinois
Northwestern Indiana
Lake Michigan
* Effective this Wednesday morning from 355 AM until 1100 AM CDT.
* Primary threats include...
Scattered damaging winds and isolated significant gusts to 75
mph possible
Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2
inches in diameter possible
A tornado or two possible
SUMMARY...Thunderstorm coverage is increasing along an
outflow-reinforced front over IA and MO, and is expected to
intensify, get more dense, and spread across the watch area through
mid/late morning local time. Damaging gusts and large hail are
expected to be the main severe modes, though a tornado cannot be
ruled out.
The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 95
statute miles east and west of a line from 55 miles southwest of
Bloomington IL to 45 miles east northeast of Rockford IL. For a
