The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of 
  North Texas

* Effective this Tuesday afternoon and evening from 200 PM until
  900 PM CDT.

* Primary threats include...
  Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 3
    inches in diameter likely
  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible
  A tornado or two possible

SUMMARY...Scattered supercells are expected through the afternoon,
immediately on the cool side of a stalled front.  The strongest
storms will be capable of producing swaths of very large hail up to
3 inches in diameter, along with a few damaging gusts of 60-70 mph. 
An isolated tornado or two could occur with storms along the front,
though surface-based storm development is less certain this
afternoon.

The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 55
statute miles north and south of a line from 30 miles west northwest
of Fort Worth TX to 45 miles south of Paris TX. For a complete

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening
weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
tornadoes.

3 inches. Extreme turbulence and surface wind gusts to 60 knots. A
