The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of 
  Southwestern Louisiana
  Southeast Texas
  Coastal Waters

* Effective this Friday morning from 535 AM until 1100 AM CDT.

* Primary threats include...
  Isolated significant damaging wind gusts to 75 mph possible
  Isolated very large hail events to 2 inches in diameter possible

SUMMARY...An organized cluster of strong-severe thunderstorms --
that began as elevated convection behind the distantly departed
bowing MCS -- is catching up to the outflow boundary and approaching
a more-unstable, surface-based field of favorable buoyancy and deep
shear.  Large/damaging hail and severe gusts are possible,
potentially as far south as the Gulf Coast.

The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 60
statute miles east and west of a line from 40 miles east northeast
of Lufkin TX to 25 miles south of Lake Charles LA. For a complete

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening
weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
tornadoes.

2 inches. Extreme turbulence and surface wind gusts to 65 knots. A
