The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a
* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of
Western to southern Arkansas
Far southeast Kansas
Southwest Missouri
Eastern Oklahoma
* Effective this Saturday night and Sunday morning from 1110 PM
until 400 AM CDT.
* Primary threats include...
Scattered damaging winds likely with isolated significant gusts
to 80 mph possible
A tornado or two possible
SUMMARY...Long-lived QLCS over north-central Oklahoma and
south-central Kansas will spread rapidly east into the Ozarks
overnight. A separate complex over southeast Oklahoma should also
spread east across southern Arkansas. Damaging wind and a brief
tornado will be the main threats.
The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 60
statute miles east and west of a line from 40 miles west of
Monticello AR to 30 miles west northwest of Springfield MO. For a

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening
weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
tornadoes.
